  • Schengen visa application form. Schengen visa form Each applicant will submit an application using the official form, which must be completed in all its sections and signed by the applicant himself. If the applicant is a minor, the person holding parental authority will sign.
  • Photography. 1 recent photograph will be presented, passport size, in color, with a light background, taken from the front, without dark glasses, reflections, or clothing that hides the oval of the face. No parts of the body of the adult holding the minor should be visible in the photograph of a minor.
  • Valid and current passport. Original and a photocopy of the page or pages with biometric data. The passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the planned date of departure from the Schengen territory. It must have at least two blank pages. Passports issued more than 10 years ago are not accepted.
  • Documents proving the relationship with a citizen of the Union or a State of the European Economic Area or of Switzerland:
    • Family book and literal Spanish or European marriage certificate, issued in the last six months by the Civil or Consular Registry, original.
    • Copy of ID or passport of the EU-EEA citizen that generates the right.
    • If applicable, literal marriage certificate issued by the Civil Registry of the place where it was celebrated, duly apostilled; and certificate from the national authorities of the EU-EEA citizen stating that said marriage is recognized as valid according to its original, internal legislation.
    • Union certificate registered in a Spanish public registry or an EU-EEA country, original and, where applicable, apostilled.
    • Full birth certificate of the applicant, original, issued in the last four months, legalized by the Civil Registry and apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • If the application is made through a representative, he or she must provide documentary proof that he or she is a direct family member of the visa applicant and a power of attorney, made before a Spanish Notary Public, a maximum of one year before the application. Original and simple copy. Original and copy of your identity card.
    • In the case of descendants of the spouse or de facto partner of the EU-EEA citizen who generates the right, accreditation of the marital bond or de facto union (see required documentation in the “Spouse” section).
  • In the case of children over 21 years of age, ascendants and other relatives, documents proving that they live in the care of the citizen of the Union or of a State of the European Economic Area or of Switzerland or, where applicable, their legal status. health:
    • Descendants over 21 years of age: full, original birth certificate, issued in the last four months, legalized by the Civil Registry and apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (only for descendants over 21 years of age).
    • Birth certificate of the EU-EEA citizen (reuniter).
    • Certificate of affiliation to the IESS apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the case of ascendants, IESS certificate of retirement collection or some type of pension, apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Issued within the last 4 months.
    • Civil Certificate of the regrouped person, issued by the local Civil Registry, apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador, issued within the last 4 months.
    • Money transfers from the last year. (BANK CERTIFICATE AND COLLECTION RECEIPTS)
    • Certificate of contributions to the SRI, apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • IRPF (INCOME TAX) certificate of the sponsor, employment contract and payment documents.
  • Documents proving that the applicant is traveling with the citizen of the Union or of a State of the European Economic Area or of Switzerland or that he is going to meet him:
    • Proof that the applicant is traveling to accompany or meet the EU-EEA citizen in Spain. If traveling to accompany the EU-EEA citizen, presentation of air reservations for the visa applicant and European citizen and a private letter inviting the applicant. If you are traveling to meet the EU-EEA citizen, a registration certificate (TRANSLATED) or a certificate of a foreigner residing in Spain and a DEMONSTRATION MINUTE indicating that they are going to reunite you or inviting the applicant.
    • Letter made by the spouse, indicating that they are going on tourism (signed and ID number) or before a Notary if the Spaniard is not present.
    • Book flight
    • If the applicant is not traveling with the father or mother, notarized power indicating that he/she is aware that the child is going to live in Spain
    • Parental authority with the reason that is still valid and has not been revoked / APOSTILLED (COPY)
    • Authorization from the mother/father so that the child can leave the country.
  • Proof of residence in the consular district.
    • Copy of the applicant's ID.
    • Copy of the applicant's voting certificate.

Please remember that all Ecuadorian documents must be APOSTILLED.
When necessary to evaluate the application, the Consular Office may request additional documents or data and may also call the applicant for a personal interview.

Compliance with the requirements established in sections 1, 2 and 3 is essential for the admissibility of an application.

Procedure

This Consular Office is competent to accept visa applications from nationals of third States who make international transit at an airport located in the territory of Spain and who reside in the consular demarcation.

  • Legitimate subject: The application will be presented in person. If the applicant is a minor, the application will be presented by his or her legal representatives.
    The minor must be present on the day of the appointment.
  • Place of presentation: The application can be presented directly at the Consular Office.
  • Applications will be submitted at the BLS International offices in the Colon Business Park, Business Building 2, premises 3 ground floor, Guayaquil.
  • Appointment request : An appointment must be requested at the following email address: nacional.gye@blsinternational.net with the Subject: “EU Family Visa, Name and Surname”, attaching 1) EU family visa check list and 2 ) copy of relationship link duly apostilled.
  • Deadline to apply for the visa: The visa application must be submitted between 6 months and 15 days before the planned date of travel. Seafarers can apply for a visa up to 9 months before the trip.

Note: We regret we cannot accept photographs that do not meet these requirements

Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) of yourself, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:

  • Taken against white background so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
  • Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre..

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day at the Consulate General of Spain. Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same. Please note as per the instructions received from Consulate of Spain minimum processing time is 15 Calendar days and 35 calendar day for Guayaquil (It may delay depending on case to case).

All applications must be submitted at least 15 days prior to the proposed date of travel to accommodate any unforeseen processing delays.

Kindly note if application submitted in Satellite centre, it may take up to 48-72 hours in transit to Quito/Guayaquil. All the applications received from Satellite centers will be sent to Consulate on next working day.

Processing time will start excluding the date of submission of application at BLS

Applicants submitting the applications towards the Consulate of Spain, Quito/Guayaquil with short processing time will be required to fill up the Declaration form.

Please note W.E.F 01 April 13 , Consulate of Spain has instructed that Sworn Declaration is mandatory to be provided along Visa Application form at the time of submission.
